Partnership Projects
Football in the Community also operate in tandem with Scotland Against Drugs to deliver a number of football initiatives that help to educate young people as to the dangers of drug misuse and about positive life choices.
Rangers FITC is proud of the work carried out
addressing the issues of Racism and Sectarianism. FITC has been involved in delivering sessions with the UK Asian Games and Old Firm Heroes with Celtic, the Scottish Football Association and Sense Over Sectarianism.
It is not only mainstream schools that benefit from the assistance of the highly trained and thoroughly vetted coaching staff, a whole range of Special Educational Needs Schools are also involved in many of the programmes.
In preparation for the Glasgow based Special Olympics in 2005, FITC coaches are assisting the West of Scotland select squad training and they have high hopes of a gold medal!
Other organisations that benefit from the work of the FITC team include: The Careers Service. With the Long Term Unemployed project, Culture and Leisure Services on their
holiday provision, Youth Services, on the Score project, Social Work on the Alternatives to Care initiate, The Glasgow Schools Sports Foundation on the G51 project. The list goes on and on.
As you can see, Rangers Football in the Community team is indeed making a difference!
