RANGERS are preparing for their first European semi-final in 36 years ahead of their clash with Italian giants Fiorentina at Ibrox tomorrow night.

The Light Blues last got so far in a continental competition back in 1972, when they met Bayern Munich over two legs in the Cup Winners' Cup.

Of course, they won 3-1 on aggragate and went on to beat Dynamo Moscow 3-2 in the final at the Nou Camp to claim their first European trophy.

Now Gers are looking for their second and aim to get to their fourth European final against either Bayern or Zenit St Petersburg in Manchester next month.
