An injury time penalty from Fernando Ricksen ensured Rangers stayed six points clear at the top of the SPL as they defeated Hearts 2-1 at Tynecastle.

Nacho Novo opened the scoring for Gers just after half time, but former Celtic striker Mark Burchill thought he had earned his side a draw after bagging an equaliser.

In the 92nd minute, however, a penalty was awarded to the visitors after Sotirios Kyrgiakos was fouled in the box and Ricksen stepped up to send Craig Gordon the wrong way.
