RANGERS staff and supporters are ready to pull on their boots to support the club's Charity Foundation - but there won't be any footballs involved.

M100 logoOver 100 fans will don walking boots to climb Ben Lomond on Sunday 25 May in a special sponsored event to raise much-needed funds for the Foundation's charity work.

The reward at the top will not just involve the view across one of Scotland's loveliest landscapes.

The CIS Cup will also be making a guest appearance on the summit of the mountain and fans will have the opportunity to celebrate their own achievement with a photograph with the trophy surrounded by the stunning scenery around Ben Lomond.

With the club still involved in three competitions, we are all hoping there might even be a few more trophies at the summit by the day of the climb.

The Ben Lomond climb is part of Charity Foundation Manager Connal Cochrane's challenge to scale 100 Munros in 2008 in support of the Foundation's charity work.

The event on May 25 should be a special day out for everyone connected with the club as staff and fans enjoy the views, climb and company - and hopefully celebrate a successful season too.Ally McCoist, Connal Cochrane, Muriel Gray and Ally McCoist promote the M100 Challenge

Connal has already made a fantastic start to the M100 challenge but is still seeking volunteers to help raise money for the Foundation by joining him on a sponsored climb of Ben Lomond and pledging to raise £100.

He said: "It's great to have 20 Munros under my belt already and I'm excited about the year of climbs ahead. I know that any help fans can give me will keep me motivated and on track.

"I am really looking forward to May 25 when so many fans will join me on the walk.  It should make for a great atmosphere and the cup at the top is an extra bonus after a hard climb."

Anyone interested in taking part in the Ben Lomond walk or sponsoring Connal should contact the Rangers Charity Foundation on 0141 580 8775 or email rangerscharity@rangers.co.uk.
