A Fond Farewell
By Graeme Macpherson
FANS sorry to see Dado Prso leaving Rangers can get their hands on his new DVD from Monday - and help the Rangers Charity Foundation in the process.
The genial Croatian spent three seasons at Ibrox and became a cult hero with the supporters during that time for his whole-hearted endeavour and good nature, both on and off the park, not forgetting the vital contribution he made in the title-winning season of 2004/05.
Highlights from all of his three seasons as a Ranger as well as exclusive interviews with Prso and his team-mates and coaching staff, past and present, are all included on this fantastic new DVD, titled "A Fond Farewell," available to buy in all good retailers and online HERE from Monday.
And with Prso choosing to generously give a sizeable donation of the proceeds to the club's charity foundation, there is no excuse not to rush out and buy it!
Dado said: "I'm proud to have been involved in the work of such a great charity and I know everyone at the club feels the same way.
"The fans have always done all they can to support the Foundation and I hope that this gift will help get next season's fundraising campaign off to a good start."
Connal Cochrane, Coordinator at the Foundation, added: "Dado is just a great person and we really appreciate this gesture from him.
"Our charity work is going from strength to strength and this cash boost will really make a big difference to the people we support next season."
The Rangers Charity Foundation's fundraising target for this season has been reached and each of the three nominated chariti
es for the season will now benefit from a total award fund of £75,000.
The Foundation recently handed over a cheque for £25,000 to each of their nominated charities for the 2006/07 season, and with these significant grants:
·Quarriers will be able to equip a new sports hall at Seafield School in Ardrossan, which caters for some of Scotland's most vulnerable and disadvantaged children.
·Leonard Cheshire will purchase an adapted vehicle and create a sensory garden for disabled users of their Fulwood respite home in Glasgow.
·The Anthony Nolan Trust will fund the addition of hundreds of potential "life-saving heroes" to the register of possible bone marrow donors - helping to save the lives of people suffering from leukaemia.
The charity foundation will be announcing their new nominated charities for the season 2007/2008 in August and plan to extend their charitable activities even further during the year ahead.
