Fans Drove Us On
CHRISTIAN DAILLY praised the Rangers fans for driving the team on for the victory they needed against Dundee United today.
Rangers could have been in a little trouble when Mark de Vries pulled a goal back in 76 minutes after two Nacho Novo goals had Rangers ahead.
However, Dailly says the fans were brilliant in lifting the team again and the points were secured when Jean-Claude Darcheville scored in injury time.
He said: "Credit to the boys. They kept pegging away and we owe a big thanks to the crowd who really kept us going, especially after United scored.
"Overall it was good. We played very well in the first half. Not quite as good in the second half but that is to be expected given the schedule we are in.
"It was a good header from Nacho. I think the bigger lads had taken a lot of the United lads away and it left him clear to score. His second goal was outstanding."
United were wailing about a couple of decisions after the game - a penalty claim when Hunt tangled with Weir and a disallowed Danny Swanson goal - but Dailly reckons decisions went against both sides.
He said: "I think it was quite even overall. United might think they should have had a few things but I felt we should have had some as well.
"I don't think it was a penalty. I had a good view of it and it would have been harsh if it was given.
"In saying that I think we were a bit fortunate not to lose the goal that was disallowed."
Dailly might have scored when it was 2-0 but his shot came off the post. He laughed: "It would have been nice to score. If it had been Coisty it would have gone in knowing his luck but when it's me it doesn't go in!
"The main thing is we won the game and the boys are all delighted."
