RANGERS will travel to Starks Park on Saturday July 26 to play a friendly with Second Division side Raith Rovers, with kick-off at 3pm.

Marvin AndrewsWith three games scheduled during the club's pre-season trip to Germany, the Gers' players will now return to face three further fixtures on Scottish soil before the 2008/09 SPL campaign gets underway.

A visit to Broadwood to take on John Brown's Clyde has already been confirmed on July 22 - kick-off 7.30pm - and it will give Light Blues fans a chance to see club legend Brian Laudrup in action for the Bully Wee.

John McGlynn's Raith, who have former Ibrox favourite Marvin Andrews on their books and are supported by Prime Minister Gordon Brown, will supply a similar test as Walter Smith aims to integrate recent signings Kenny Miller, Kyle Lafferty and Andrius Velicka into his team.

Rangers' last competitive trip to Starks Park came in April 1997 with goals from Gordan Petric, Laudrup, David Robertson, Ally McCoist and a double from Gordon Durie securing a comprehensive 6-0 league victory.Prime Minister Gordon Brown cheers on Raith Rovers

Following the trip to Kirkcaldy at the end of this month the Light Blues can look forward to welcoming Premiership giants Liverpool to Ibrox Stadium on Saturday 2 August.

The likes of Steven Gerrard and Spain's Euro 2008 hero Fernando Torres will all be on show in the hugely-anticipated game.
