FULL TIME: Schalke 1 v 0 Rangers
A disappointing end to Rangers' pre season tour of Germany as they go down to an impressive looking Schalke team in Gelsenkirchen.

88 min: Schalke win another free kick just outside the box and they have another chance to test Alexander in the Rangers goal. But Grossmuller puts the set piece over the bar.

85 min: Andrius Velicka comes so close for the visitors as his header rattles the post from Darcheville's cross. The closest the Gers have come all night.

84 min: SUBSTITUTION - Schalke
The home side make their 8th and 9th changes with Levan Kenia and and Ze Roberto replacing Ernst and Asamoah.

83 min: A lovely, slick passing move from the home side creates space for the shot from Sanchez but again Broadfoot is on hand to block.

Carlos Zambrano is the latest Schalke sub to join the action with Marcelo Bordon making way.

78 min: More good football from the Schalke midfield earns them their 8th corner as Broadfoot clears.

Andrius Velicka replaces Kenny Miller.

73 min: Alexander pulls off a good save from Rakitic's free kick as the pressure continues on the Rangers defence.

72 min: Engelaar delivers a dangerous looking free kick from the right and two Schalke attackers come close to adding to the home side's lead.

70 min: SUBSTITUTION - Schalke
Jefferson Farfan is replaced by Vicente Sanchez.

68 min: Thomson picks out Darcheville over the top but his first touch is poor. The forward gets the ball across but it's out of reach for Miller and McCulloch.

66 min: Engelaar gets another shot away with his left foot effort ending up in the stand behind Alexander's goal. It's all Schalke again.

64 min: Miller gets to the touchline on the left and cuts back for Kevin Thomson but the midfielder is just ahead of the ball and the chance is lost.

63 min: SUBSTITUTION - Schalke
Benedikt Howedes replaces goal scorer Mladen Krstajic.

62 min: Rafinha's cross finds Asamoah, but the striker doesn't make a good connection and the ball spins away out of the Gers box.

60 min: SUBSTITUTION - Rangers
Nacho Novo is the man to make way as Charlie Adam joins the action.

59 min: Kobiashvili fires a shot wide of the post from 25 yards as Charlie Adam prepares to come on.

58 min: Another set piece for Schalke as Dailly gives away a free kick on the left of the box. Again it hits the wall. Darcheville picks up a yellow card for his protests.

56 min: Weir concedes a free kick on the edge of the box but Kobiashvili fires it against the wall.

55 min: Rangers break and Novo almost picks out Darcheville but Schober was off his line quickly to clear from the Frenchman's feet.

54 min: Whittaker does well to crowd out Farfan on Schalke's left, but the second half has started as the first ended with the home side in control.

50 min: Engelaar fires a low left foot shot at goal and Alexander does well to get down to the ball and smother the rebound before Asamoah can pounce.

48 min: Broadfoot executes a perfect tackle on Farfan just as the Schalke winger was set to unleash a shot.

46 min: Rangers get the second 45 minutes started. Two changes for Schalke as Pander and Streit make way for Ivan Rakitic and new signing Orlando Engelaar.

HALF TIME: SCHALKE 1 v 0 RANGERS
The home side lead at the break in Germany with Schalke enjoying the majority of possession throughout.

42 min: Farfan and Asamoah combine neatly on the edge of the box and Broadfoot has to deflect the shot wide of the upright for another corner.

41 min: Novo and Miller have switched wings as they look for a way past the home defence.

36 min: Miller breaks past his marker but his shot is deflected wide for a Rangers corner. Novo's set piece is poor and cleared easily at the near post.

34 min: Pander's free kick flies over the bar off Papac for a Schalke corner, which Papac clears.

33 min: Thomson is penalised on the edge of the box, but it looks like the Gers midfielder won the ball. Davie Weir debates the decision with referee Detlef Scheppe, but it'll be a free kick for the home side.

30 min: GOAL - Schalke 1 v 0 Rangers
Farfan's corner is headed home by Mladen Krstajic. The ball hits the frame of the goal before nestling behind Alexander.

29 min: Papac and Weir are caught out at the back and Streit has space to shoot, but again it doesn't threaten Neil Alexander's goal.

27 min: Darcheville and Miller combine again to create an opening for Miller to cross to Novo. Great defending from Pander clears the danger. More promising from the visitors.

26 min: Miller wins a header but his flick on is a little to far ahead of Darcheville and Schober in the Schalke goal collects the ball.

24 min: Ernst's long range shot is easily held by Alexander.

23 min: Whittaker and Broadfoot combine to clear from Farfan's free kick. Papac switches play to Novo on the right but the little forward can't pick out a team mate with his deep cross.

20 min: Pander once again is the most threatening looking player on the pitch as he jinks away from Novo and Whittaker but loses his footing before he can get a cross away.

17 min: A lull in the action inspires a Mexican wave round the stadium. There's still a real pre season feel to the action.

15 min: Papac does well again to defend a threatening looking position as Jermaine Jones picks the ball up wide on Rangers' left.

13 min: Pander does well on the left and his cross is a dangerous looking one that Alexander handles well in the Rangers goal.

10 min: McCulloch breaks well on the right of the Schalke box and looks to square to Novo, but Krstajic is on hand to clear.

9 min: Streit picks up the ball on the edge of Gers' box but his right foot shot is a weak one and Alexander watches it roll comfortably wide of his upright.

8 min: Ernst's ball forward is headed behind by Sasa Papac to concede a corner on Schalke's right. It's taken short and McCulloch clears the resulting cross.

7 min: Darcheville tries to spin a ball wide to Novo but he overhits it and the Spaniard can't collect the pass.

5 min: Asamoah picks up on a mistake from Steven Whittaker but he fails to get a shot away from the edge of the Rangers box and the danger is cleared.

4 min: A lively start at the fantastic Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen.

2 min: Kenny Miller has started wide on the left with Jean Claude Darcheville on his own up front and Nacho Novo supporting from the right.
