ALEX McLEISH hopes Rangers' win over Hibs tonight will put further pressure on Hearts ahead of their match with Aberdeen tomorrow evening.
The Light Blues' 2-1 victory, courtesy of a Kris Boyd double, closed the gap between second and third place in the SPL to just one point.
And should in-form Aberdeen draw or win at Tynecastle tomorrow it will set up a dramatic last-day clash between Rangers and Hearts at Ibrox on Sunday, with the winner earning a place in next season's Champions League.
McLeish said: "It's Hearts to lose as they are still in the driving seat. But we have made them work for it.
"If I had been in their position and heard our score tonight I wouldn't have been happy about it.
"Hearts bounced back well on Sunday (beating Celtic) so now we have to see if they can do it again tomorrow.
"Aberdeen have fared well at Tynecastle this season apart from their cup game so we have to hope they can take something tomorrow.
"We have clawed back points on Hearts which suggests they can still drop more.
"I told the players they had nothing to lose before tonight's game as it wasn't in our hands and that's still the case."
McLeish revealed that he was about to substitute Boyd moments before he scored what proved to be the winning goal.
The striker had been struggling with a toe complaint but was willing to continue until full-time.
Eck added: "Boydy had a blister on his toe that burst and was bleeding. Just before he scored the second we were thinking of taking him off with a view to Sunday's match.
"During the 60 seconds or so, however, that we were debating it he scored. He then came over to the touchline and said he could handle it and would play on.
"It wasn't restricting him too much and he should be okay for Sunday.
"I'm sure he will be desperate to play if that match means something for us."
The manager also revealed Ian Murray should be fine after the former Hibs man was taken off following an accidental clash of heads.
