BILLY Kirkwood's under-19 side showed no signs of taking their foot of the gas after last week's league triumph.

The youth team secured a 2-0 over Aberdeen to follow up their creditable draw against Celtic at the weekend.

Aberdeen started well but Stephen Stirling's deflected shot after 23 minutes gave Rangers the lead.

And when Kai Naismith struck a second shortly after the half hour mark the result never looked in doubt.

It leaves the young Gers with one remaining fixture against Hibs this Friday to complete their league schedule.

They will face the Hibees at New Victoria Park in Newtongrange, with a 1pm kick off.
