All Go At Gothia Cup
RANGERS' girls under-17 side have got off to a terrific start in the Gothia Cup by recording a stunning 5-1 win in their opening game against Hultsfred FK before drawing 1-1 with Torslanda IK this afternoon.
The girls flew out to Sweden on Sunday to take part in one of the most popular youth tournaments in the world with over 177,000 children from over 127 different countries participating in the last three years.
More than 1,500 teams will came together at the Ullevi Stadium for the opening ceremony, where it is estimated that 50,000 spectators turned out to welcome all the clubs participating.
And Rangers did themselves pround in their opening match on Monday, beating Swedish side Hultsfred FK 5-1 thanks to goals from Lara Clelland, Jodie Mooney, Michaela Brown, Jade Gallon and Louise Madgilton all getting on the scoresheet.
Gallon again found the net in today's 1-1 draw against Nowegian side Torslanda IK.
Victory against final group opponents Stommen FK will take the girls through to the knockout stages which will be played later this week.
