Kris Boyd completed his dream move to Ibrox in January 2006, signing a three-and-a-half-year deal.

Kris BoydThe transfer ended months of speculation linking him with a switch to Ibrox and to say that he has done well since his arrival would be an understatement.

The striker has proved prolific in front of goal at every level of his career and represented Scotland at under-18 and under-21 level before making his full debut in the 5-1 Kirin Cup win over Bulgaria on May 11 2006, a match in which he scored twice.

A product of the Kilmarnock youth system, Boyd burst into the first team in May 2001 to help the Rugby Park side to a 1-0 victory over Celtic.

Thereafter he was a regular for the Ayrshire outfit and netted 68 goals in 116 starts.

One of his finest moments came against Dundee United in September 2004 when he bagged all five goals in a 5-2 win.

Such a prolific player was always going to attract attention from other clubs and he passed up the chance to move to Wolves, Cardiff and Sheffield Wednesday during his time at Killie.

Boyd started season 2005/2006 in blistering form and charged to the top of the scoring charts with 17 goals by Christmas. Kris Boyd celebrates after scoring

Alex McLeish had always been an admirer of the hitman and made his move to snap up the towering striker in December, ahead of the transfer window opening on January 1.

Boyd is good with his feet and excellent in the air and finished the season as Scotland's most prolific hitman with an incredible 39 goals for club and country.

He was also the first player in the SPL to be the top scorer at two club's in the same season.

Boyd was to break through the 100 SPL goals barrier during the 2006/07 campaign and, despite being on record as saying it was a tough season for him personally, once again finished the country's top scorer with 26 goals in all competitions.

He also managed to break his Old Firm duck with a goal in the 2-0 win over Celtic at Ibrox on May 5.

Boyd Insists he can still improve as a goalscorer which must be a frightening thought for defenders across Scotland.
