JEAN-CLAUDE DARCHEVILLE became a Rangers player in June 2007 after completing a Bosman move from French side, Bordeaux.
The striker began his professional career with Rennes in 1995, staying there for three years and scoring five goals in 42 games.
He then spent a season in British football with Nottingham Forest but left after scoring just twice in 16 games, his stay in the UK also blighted by personal tragedy.
He moved back to France with Lorient where he enjoyed more success. In three seasons he scored 44 goals, including the winner in the 2002 French Cup Final against Bastia. Lorient also reached the league cup final that year.
After Lorient were relegated, Darcheville - originally from French Guyana - moved on to Bordeaux where he would spend the next five seasons, winning the league cup in 2007.
He then signed a two-year deal that will keep him at Ibrox until 2009.
