USA international DaMarcus Beasley joined Rangers in June 2007 after completing his transfer from PSV Eindhoven.

Naturally a left-sided player, the winger is renowned for his hard working attitude and exceptional speed.

Comfortable with the ball at his feet, the 25-year-old is also famed for his ability to cut through defences with his mazy runs.

Born in Fort Wayne Indiana, Beasley enjoyed a rapid rise to stardom becoming a key player in the MLS, before securing a dream move to Europe.

His talent was originally spotted while playing for South Side High School and he was rewarded with a place at the IMG Soccer Academy in Florida.

On March 16, 1999 the MLS allocated the lightening-fast wide man to Los Angeles Galaxy but he was traded to Chicago Fire the following year and has never looked back.

During his four terms at the club he scored 16 goals, made 20 assists and was named in the league's best XI in 2003. He made 114 appearances in total.

Guus Hiddink recognised Beasley's undoubted talent and paid $2.5million for his services in June 2004 to take him to Holland.

In his first season at the Philips Stadium the US international helped PSV to their 18th league title and scored in the final of the Amstel Cup, which was eventually clinched in a shoot-out win over Feyenoord.

That year he was also a key player on the European stage, netting four goals in 12 games, while becoming the first American to play in a Champions League semi-final. Unfortunately that campaign ended in disappointment as AC Milan progressed to the final on away goals.DaMarcus Beasley

After a frustrating second season with Eindhoven, Beasley spent last term on loan in the Premiership at Manchester City, working with former Gers defender Michael Ball at both clubs.

Walter Smith made his move for the wide man this summer and he has the ability to be a key player in the coming seasons.

Beasley's move to Ibrox was finalised just days after he helped his country win the Gold Cup with a 2-1 win over Mexico.

Since making his debut for the US men's team against China on January 27, 2001, DaMarcus has also excelled on the international scene.

Despite being just 25, he arrived at Ibrox with 61 caps and having scored 12 goals.

He is one of America's most celebrated players and has already starred in two World Cups, in 2002 and 2006.
