Alan Lowing, a product of the Murray Park youth department, was handed a surprise top team debut against Clyde in the CIS Cup on September 20, 2005 at the tender age of 17.
He played the entire match - the full 90 plus extra time - and didn't look out of place alongside Marvin Andrews, Sotirios Kyrgiakos and Olivier Bernard in the back four.
The level-headed youngster, now 19, has made three more first-team appearances since then, two as a substitute, including an UEFA outing against Partizan Belgrade in 2006/07.
Alan is a composed, classy right-back but those who have played against him will know that he will never shirk out of a tackle.
The performances of Alan Hutton in this position have meant that Lowing has had to wait patiently for another first-team opportunity but Walter Smith will be aware of the youngster's potential.
He was also part of the Scotland under-20 squad that travelled to the World Cup in Canada this summer.
